Why doesn't award category change seasonally?
One of our favorite properties, the Hilton Suites in Ocean City, MD, runs around $500/night on summer weekends and is a Category 7 property. But during the week in the mid/late fall, rates drop to less than $100.
If I could stay there as a category 3 in the fall, I probably would. But it makes no sense as a 7.
Is there a reason (beyond Keeping It Simple Stupid) that the rewards cost doesn't change throughout the year the way the published rates do?
