it's not, but this sort of statement from APA leadership indicates that they probably intend to recommend that the membership accept a serious deal.

actually this announcement is the best bankruptcy-prevention medicine available.

IF there is a deal in the works with APA, then AA's bleeding is soon to end. APFA and the others will have little choice but to play ball.

IF there is a deal to be done, AA will be in quite a nice position, relatively-- UA still floundering, CO teetering on the brink, DL being bled slowly but surely unto death by DALPA's 42% pilot wage premium through 2005...

at least the alternative seems to be unthinkable enough to all sides to get them to be reasonable.
