Was that the airline named kiwijet? Or something similair? They were planning on launching like 4 years ago but pacific blue and jetstar have stopped them and now they're run out of money. They were planning on doing flights chc-akl from as "low" as $139, however that included beer and wine... they did have some interesting concepts however
