I stayed at a Hampton last weekend (June 19). Card was swiped but not imprinted. I was also asked for picture ID, for which I provided passport. Woman behind counter compared signature of card to passport signature.
Week before, HGI. Card was swiped, not imprinted, no ID required.
Week before THAT, I stayed at a HGI and was swiped AND imprinted, no ID required.
I'm getting a real YMMV feel.
