If you have a stop over in BKK, you will most likely (I say that because YMMV) have the S. Asia rate.
You might be able to get away with FRA-NRT (dest)-BKK (stop)-FRA.
If you spend less than 24 hrs in your transiting city, there will be no upcharge.
