Just got this new chase southwest airlines cc promo in the mail. It came with 4 little cards to give to friends. If they sign up for a new southwest credit card they get a free flight and I get 4 credits in my account. The issue is that all of the cards I am supposed to give to my friends have MY southwest rapid rewards number on it. I understand the caller needs to supply my number so I get the credits posted. Isn't this dangerous though? What is to stop an unscrupulous "friend" from calling Southwest and getting my information or credits? Should I be concerned?????????
Well for one, I think if you're actually concerned about that, you need to change your definition of the word "friend".
Beyond that, I don't think your RR# is enough information to get anything sensitive from RR customer service. And credits can't be transferred anyway.
