to add a recent review...stayed there (twice, once for one night, once for two) about a month ago. location is terrific, you can walk to most anyplace downtown. parking and internet are free. staff at the desk is good, but the rest is so-so. asked for an extra pillow both stays, front desk staff called to make sure it arrived. first stay i thought that was a nice touch, but second stay pillow never arrived, and i realized they had to follow up w/housekeeping to be sure they were doing their job.

there were two glasses on the floor of the hallway for the duration of our two-day stay. guess the housekeeping staff figured it wasn't their job to remove them.

soundproofing is virtually nonexistant in the hotel. doors slamming all hours. housekeeper chatting LOUDLY in the halls when they start work, and they ignored the 'do not disturb' sign on check-out day. only platinum 'upgrade' is to a room on the top floor on the non-highway side.

they did, however, give us a 4p late checkout with no problems.

next time we'll stay at the holiday inn express, which gives a pc plat a terrific suite upgrade and occasionally has very cheap rooms (if you book a cancellable rate and check a day or two before you plan to arrive). ^
