It is a difficult balancing act for airlines to find programming that is appropriate for all age groups without offending anyone. This has to be done at reasonable cost, ie. a minimum of royalties for repeats, precluding most movies and programs that could otherwise be sold or rented at your local video store (Sex In The City, for example). My son has often asked why The Simpsons can't be shown. Other than AA's deal with CBS, this is the type of program that would offend some and would be costly, as it is widely syndicated and available for sale/rental in video stores. Shows like Raymond - usually not current episodes - are available at reasonable cost and are neutral enough for all viewers. Besides, do you really want to be watching people eat bugs on Survivor while munching on the contents of your Bistro bag?
