Also a UK based QF SG here, but I've been very lucky by comparison. I fly mainly BA on European short-haul hops, and in the past two years I've probably been upgraded around 10-15% of flights. Mostly occur when travelling solo, but also often enough when travelling with my partner (QF Silver) and we've both been bumped up. Have also been very unexpectedly op-upped on IB and CX recently, so it seems that other OW carriers do look after their collective own.

Long haul is far less common, but BA moved me up to WT+ last year on a LHR-HKG which was quite nice for an overnight flight. Although I must admit I've never been as happy as when QF moved me from Y to J from SYD-SIN-FRA on an award ticket three years ago.

I guess it's pure luck, but it amazes me the regularity given that I'm not top tier, nor BAEC. Not that I'm complaining for a second, but you'd think there would be plenty more higher in the pecking order than QF SG.
