The person is there to make sure that non-F and non-elite passengers do not use the elite line. If that person were not there and the line were full of non-F, non-elite passengers, would you prefer that?

The airline controls the lines up to the point of the TSA document checker. If you don't like the fact that the elite line is guarded, then feel free to use the regular line. I for one am glad that it is guarded.

And how would the line guard know that you know where you are going just because you claim to. Don't you think people have lied before to get into the shorter line.
