Just saw this thread after staying at the Universidad location 2 nights ago. My quick synopsis:

-The hotel is an older Hampton and the rooms aren't nearly as bright as I'd like them to be
-Amenities are pretty poor (rough towels, no conditioner) and both my sink and shower were leaky & the toilet was VERY slow to flush.
-Breakfast is typical Hampton
-There is a restaurant in their parking lot that wasn't too bad (forget the name)
-Next door (a safe walk for me, even at night) is a shopping center with a large supermarket, a few banks, etc.
-Rate was ~70 USD per night (a coworker booked it, so I'm no sure if we were on a corporate rate or not).
-Lots of US folks in the breakfast area (well, they looked the part and spoke very good English, so I'm assuming)

No major issues, but if it were the US, I'd probably drive 20+ mins to find another suitable location b/c of the rooms.
