I've given up on the Big 3 for my phone service. And yes, in the process I have given up the frequent flyer direct point linkages. But the amount saved can be converted to points by donating it to a charity such as Erin Go Bragh.
I now use ECG service, which offers 4.9 interstate per minute. Their calls go over qwest lines. They bill in 6 second increments, with 18 seconds minimum per call. There is NO monthly fee. Details of their plan can be found at:

Take the $4.95 a month you save from the other plans and convert it via charity like Erin Go Bragh at 15 points per dollar you get 75 points per month.
