I am flying BA round trip from Seattle to Geneva, during peak season, with layovers in London on both legs of the trip, and the fee is only $288. That is a great deal, no matter how you calculate it. My savings are substantially greater than $1,000.
Yes, moondog, I could fly to Shanghai for almost free. Yes, moondog, Shanghai is a better deal. But I don't want to go to Shanghai. I want to go to Geneva. And Geneva is a very good deal. It is not particularly relevant that there are better deals that go to different destinations.
That's like saying I shouldn't buy a suit on sale because the store is offering even better deals on dresses.
