I read your posts, curious to see if you went to their buffet and/or if Beau Rivage still has a buffet.
We were there so long ago I can't remember when, well before the hurricane, and we have always talked about going back specifically for the buffet (though the lobby was beautiful too, with the masses of blue hydrangeas--do they still have those?).
I recall the slots were tight, and the personnel seemed abrasive. But those southern-style biscuits for breakfast! And baklava and whole roasted pig, which DH (not I

) tried. I wondered for a long time how they got the biscuits so light, and then I read that the southeast uses a different type of flour, less durum or whatever, which produces that type of biscuit.
Sorry for the unsophisticated raving, but, well. . . .
Anyhow, details, please, on your visit. Even if you didn't try the buffet, what about the hydrangeas?

The rest of it? Did you happen to notice if they at least still had a breakfast buffet? Beau Rivage is not exactly convenient for us to get a flight there, let alone drive, just for a buffet breakfast. (Now, for Captain George's in Virginia, maybe another matter.

)
