Have my NEXUS interview at YYZ on 24 December. I am a Canadian living in Champaign, Illinois (guess what I do for a living
) and have a Green Card, I am hoping to do the Nexus-Global Entry transition once I get the Nexus stuff sorted. Chose YYZ as my in-laws live in the Toronto burbs. One slightly complicating factor is that I will be leaving for a London UK trip 16 December and will be flying into YYZ on 23 December without coming back home to CMI. This means I need to make extra sure I have all my bits and pieces with me when I leave for the UK.
Assuming all goes well with the Nexus stuff, what would be the next step to moving toward the GE? Can I start the process at my Nexus interview? Living makes getting to approved border offices a bit of a hassle.
Any and all comments, helpful hints, suggestions, and/or warnings would be most welcomed.

As far as the process for transitioning to GE, the only thing you need to do is go online to GOES and apply for GE. Since you are already a NEXUS member, you
should receive instant approval. I've heard it's been as fast as twenty minutes... Then you go to a US airport and they will show you how to use the machine and then slap the sticker on your passport and you are on your way... My interview only took twenty minutes from the time I walked in the door, until I left...
