OP, I think your post on your blog is a little harsh w/r/t customer service. Most likely the folks were flight attendants and were most likely off duty and/or been unable to help the pax with their issue. FAs aren't paid while they're on the ground and if they don't have flight duties, so IMHO it's fair for them to not assist... very common on every single airline I've ever flown on.
