How about new Chaing Rai Le M?
Nicer property than Chaing Mai Le M as posted earlier.
We're renting a car in Chaing Mai and driving to Chaing Rai in a few months.

I would skip the Phuket SPG properties and do Krabi and/or Khao Lak SPGs.
Khao Lak Le M has nearby Elephant ride in nearby national park. Very mellow property. Should get a bungalow as Plat. Krabi has nice suites which are available to Plats.
Rent a car at the airport. I like Budget, but I've also used Sixt there. The driving between Phuket airport and Khao Lak and Krabi is very good. The drive around Phang Nga Bay is spectacular!

Do a long-tail boat to James Bond Island. You can get a private one for about 1500 bt for 2-3 hours. When you get off HWY 4 at road 4144, stay to the right and take a small road to a very small pier. The boats going out of there are not the big tourist boats, as out of the big pier. They go through the mangrove forest out to the bay. It's a very nice trip. You can have lunch at the floating village. Afterward, head back and make the right turn to the main pier and Nat Park HQ and have a beer/use the restroom at the Phang Nga Bay hotel.

If you go to Krabi, you can take a long-tail boat from the hotel beach to Railay Beach, supposedly one of the best beaches in the world.

I would also skip Tokyo.
