I stayed at a hotel just a block from the new Marriott in December. It's located about 5 minutes from a Picadilly Line tube station that serves the airport as well as the theatre district-- a real plus. There is another line that gives you direct access to Victoria Station. There are several small ethnic restaurants in the area. Not much else, though.
