I have considered at least four possibilities of what could replace that cheapie disaster of a garment bag:
1: Tom Bihn's Aeronaut
2: Tom Bihn's Tri-Star
3: Tom Bihn's Western Flyer
4: MEI/Genuine Gear's Executive Overnighter
As you travel for business, it is logical to have more space rather then less (suits, shoes, sport jackets) and as you are travelling almost exclusively in the US, I recommend the legal maximum carry on bag that you can get. Therefrom from the Tom Bihn selection I recommend the Aeronaut. You may want to check out the Red Oxx Air Boss (also made in the USA) which is very popular and highly recommended.
I personally do not have experience with any of these bags and am looking for something smaller than the maximum, but that is because I will be carrying in Europe where the carry on restrictions are tougher.
