If youŽre using UA miles for your redemption you MIGHT be able to fly to HNL on UA and then fly to PPT on Hawaiian Airlines.
Hawaiian Airlines is one of UAŽs non-*A partners and you can earn UA miles when flying on some Hawaiian Airlines operated inter-island flights provided you flew to HNL on UA metal, but youŽll have to look into the detail yourself.
AFAIK UA doesnŽt have any agreements with Air Tahiti, so no earning / redeeming UA miles when flying Air Tahiti.
Good luck with your planning!
I'm pretty sure it's correct that you can use UA miles to fly Hawaiian to PPT, though I don't think Hawaiian flies to PPT on a daily basis. Could be that it's even just once a week.
By the way, the international carrier folks are discussing here is actually Air Tahiti Nui, not Air Tahiti. Air Tahiti is a separate airline that just flies domestically within FP.
