Fare rules, not fare code.
The fare rules set out whether connections are permitted and, if so, what cities are legal connections. Some fares are also airport specific. In this case, as noted elsewhere, JFK-SEA may be airport specific and may not allow connections since it is really targeted at competing with the B6 nonstop. Still, no harm in trying but you'll have better luck with confirmed standby rather than otherwise. There's always the story about one of my friends/coworker/client will be at DFW and I'd like to connect there so I can meet with them. Sounds much better than I want more miles or I'd rather fly longer just to avoid the 757.
