I would echo what sunrisegirl says.

I have only been to Barbados, but enjoyed staying on the west coast, where there are some good hotels at most price ranges. Great beaches and some gentle sightseeing, although I was quite happy on the beach!

That said, I know several people who have been to Jamaica and really enjoyed it, so it depends on what you are interested in doing, the costs of the hotels and 2-4-1 availability.
