Nice to hear about that. I will be there for this coming weekend with the free weekend promo. Hard to believe I was able to book the rooms. And will report my experience later.
Updated my stays:
Just had two night there in Sheraton Oceanfront.
Pro: Staff is friendly; as plat, got upgrade to the top floor with Ocean view, free breakfast; Location is nice, right on the beach; Parking is free; 3 swimming pools including 1 indoor swimming pool;
Con: the furniture is a little bid old; Elevator is old; Parking space is tight and limited spots.
Overall it's very good experience.

Most guests are families and couples. Direct beach location is a plus and being at the North end of the strip makes it less crowded than more central addresses. The beach is busy but not crowded even on weekends. Three swimming pools, including one with a sloped entrance, are a plus as you can usually find one that is not too busy.
Free parking across the street.
The Links room overlooks the Ocean and is neat for accessing the Web while other members of your party enjoy a drink or plainly the view.
Most rooms (all but two per floor) are ocean view or ocean front. In terms of furniture it rates below average for a Sheraton as some items may look tired. Service is fine. As a Gold member I wasn't upgraded because the place was pretty full but I got my bed preference (2 doubles) by phoning in earlier even though my original confirmation was for 1 king.
If you are looking for a nice beach experience you'll enjoy it.
