I'm not a big fan of spending extra money just to "buy" points and/or miles.
In this situation, if you use a somewhat standard 2 cents/mile and 1 cent/HHonor point you come out with $36, almost exactly what you'd be spending extra ... is it worth it to you ... only a question you can answer ...
