I'm wondering, too, although they have all of June to "make good" on the tease. I wonder if the juxtaposition of the The Big Welcome essay judging and the rollout of the June Swoon could be the problem. I mean, while good management would have had the June Swoon all prepared, primped and primed for showtime ahead of the essay wave crashing, perhaps the nature of the run-up to the contest's conclusion (building, building, building) created an "all hands" situation.

Seeing Mr. Zidell's characterization of > 80,000 essays, looks like "tsunami" would have been a better word than "wave".
