Trip Report - Palm Springs Hilton

We just spent a night at the Palm Springs Hilton to take advantage of their great rate and complete the summer challenge. We paid $59 per night (plus a $7.00 resort fee, plus taxes.) I did not fight the resort fee, though it was too hot to play tennis, and "self parking" was supposed to be free, though it was listed as a benefit of the "resort fee." Our total for the night including taxes, fees, and drinks around the pool was $85.

How wonderful to walk into another Hilton and be greeted warmly as a "Gold" member.

We were upgraded to a mini-suite with an "L-shaped" sitting area, a very large (36" or larger) TV, and enough towels for 6 people, and a super confortable bed with turndown service. AND - we were also given breakfast coupons for two, a $17 "value."

This makes the 2nd Hilton property in a row that I did not have to ask for anything as a Gold Member.

We arrived at 4:00 PM and it was 109 degrees, though it was comfortable in the shade and cool in the pool. The hotel is nothing special, the common areas a bit dated, though it looked as though there was work being done to upgrade much of the room furniture.

There were few guests (it was a Monday night)though there were many staff members who were very friendly and enthusiastic. Definately not a "destination" location for the summer, but we were on the road and could not pass up the great rate and the 20,000 points for a fourth stay.
