A few years ago I took part in an almost identical thread after flying ORD-LAS with UA in V (mapped on as "S" on UA if I remember correctly). Then I wrote a letter to SAS Customer Service (not retro-registration) explaining the very confused situation and, guess what, they gave me 1500 extra points as compensation (the difference was actually 1200 basic points). May be worth a try!
