In Summer 2007 EL AL renewed its fleet with two new Boeing 777 aircraft, among the most advanced of its type in the world. The new planes, “Sderot” and “Kiryat Shmone”, placed EL AL at the technological forefront internationally and marked a significant step up in passenger service and flight experience. The aircraft were especially designed for EL AL with a modern, prestigious looking cabin interior.
The arrival of the new aircraft was the first stage in the project of upgrading and renewing the other 777 aircraft, which was completed several months ago. EL AL is now in the final stages of this extensive renewal project, with the upgrading of its 747-400 planes, which is expected to be completed in March 2009.
With its completion, EL AL passengers flying to long-range destinations will enjoy 11 large-bodied aircraft of a uniform high standard and an improved flight experience that includes bed-seats in the premium Classes, new seat upholstery in Economy Class and an improved cabin interior in all Classes.
After the Business Class seats have provided comfort for EL AL passengers for seven years, EL AL is proud to offer for sale, in a public auction style, five sets (pairs) of Business Class seats, for anyone who has dreamed of enjoying the prestigious Business Class experience without leaving home. The seats can help create a unique experience in one’s home or office or even as a private cinema.
EL AL has earmarked the proceeds from the sale, after deduction of the sale expenses, as a contribution to Variety - The Children’s charity organization.
