Ok, I dug even deeper and noticed that I actually received two 1099's from Citibank. A 1099-INT and a 1099-Misc. So, I assume the 1099-misc is for TYP's but how do they calculate this? I made a redemption of $2700 but the 1099-misc is for about $1250. I am intrigued as to how they calculate this as the tax on that amount isn't exactly small.
