The total amount that can be claimed is capped at 1000SDR (Special Drawing Rights). That's +/- 1200EUR.
This amount will include any refund you may have already received for items you bought whilst waiting (in vain...) for your baggage to be delivered, as well as the value of the lost container and content.
Under most national laws, any claim for damage must be justified and you will therefore be asked to produce original receipts for every item claimed. Failing this, you will have to rely on AF's goodwill.
Should you be very lucky and receive your missing baggage nonetheless, any amount already paid by the airline will remain yours.
