I've tried it (in the UK), and they said because of the extra benefits through their program they wouldn't price match.
In the case of the Bellagio however, their price was cheaper than what was available on the internet, and I have to say it was worth it - the spa voucher and the free breakfast were something tangible that it was worth going through Amex for.
