I'm wondering if it isn't something more. I've flown this route many times on an A319 in the winter, and until today, I was scheduled to do just that.
Last year they alternated 319's and '9s on certain days. I think it is slightly more conservative but I have been flying out of MHT for 10 years and there is always some reduction.
