Spent Sunday night at the HR. Given room 1514 on the Regency Club floors. Had a great view of the bay and Bay Bridge, if we stood at the window and looked a bit left. Straight out view was of offices in the Southern Pacific Building across the street. The room was good sized with a comfortable king bed. The rooms facing Market Street (as this one did) can get quite a bit of street noise from panhandler musicians and the streetcars. Someone suggested the rooms on the RC floors had been remodeled. Although the furnishings were updated, there was no other evidence (e.g. bathroom) of remodeling.

The RC is huge and everyone has a window table, although some windows face only other buildings. There was no concierge; perhaps staffed only on weekdays. There were some friendly servers, however. No hot offerings, but what was there was tasty. Breakfast in the RC was the typical fare- cereals, yougerts, breads and bagels, croissants, and raspberry pastries. There were never more than maybe 10 people in the place on either Sunday evening or Monday morning.

A very nice stay overall. Front desk staff very friendly and efficient. The atrium was decked out for Christmas. I like the GH better for location and a more scenic view (from upper floors), but the room size at the HR was better.
