Old joke:

This guy checks into a hotel, and he idly picks up the Gideon Bible and starts reading it. After a few minutes, he goes down to the restaurant in the hotel, where he strikes up a conversation with the hat-check girl (I said it was an old joke ).

Anyhow, he makes a suggestion and she demurs, but he insists it's OK because he read it in the Bible. So, she agrees, and they go up to his room for a little frolicking.

Afterwards, she seems a little puzzled. "Are you sure you read it in the Bible?" she asks.

"Sure!", he replies. "See for yourself."

So she digs out the book and, sure enough, right there on the first page, someone had pencilled in, "The hat-check girl goes down!"
