Pretty safe to have nice weather in the Bay Area that time of year, as the rainy season doesn't kick in until around November 1. Depending on routing you could hit morning fog on the coast and 60 degrees, and end up with 100 if you head over the East Bay hills or up into the Napa or Sonoma Valley. Ideal situation for layering.
