No, not really going for another status. It seems like a pretty good deal for the number of miles, and is certainly quicker than trying to fly that many miles on any airline. Support a worthy cause and have the miles in hand without spending the amount of time it would take to earn them or to buy that much stuff on a credit card.
Still wondering about the overall experience any of you frequent AA flyers have with redemption of miles for business class to Europe or Asia. If I'm fully flexible on dates and routes, is it possible to get savers? Ideally, I'd buy both sets of these 300,000 and take my family of four somewhere. Is four on the same itin a ridiculous expectation (it would be on DL, my status airline)? What about two?
