You have an allocated seat on the plane which nobody else can get, the gate agent will happily put the boarding card through and you toddle on to the plane and away you go.

Given the propensity of many low-cost carriers for flying to weird airports that none of us have ever heard of, I think it's a bit unfair to expect the pax to know that Bodrum Airport is in Turkey (I didn't particularly know this until I read the story). As far as the pax were concerned, they did everything right and I find it extraordinary that a check-in agent could be this incompetent.
