Worldwide by easyJet Gets A New Member

Connecting across the globe just got a lot easier for airline customers who fly with easyJet. It was announced this week that Singapore Airlines is set to join the Worldwide by easyJet global connections service. Singapore Airlines will also be bringing along its low-cost offshoot carrier called Scoot.

Customers of easyJet will now be able to connect using Singapore Airlines when flying through Milan–Malpensa Airport (MXP). Customers flying through Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL) will now have access to Scoot flights. Service with Singapore Airlines is expected to become available for easyJet passengers at some point within the next few months.

You’re not alone if this is the first you’re hearing about Worldwide by easyJet. The program is gaining steam after being launched last year. Norwegian, WestJet, Corsair International, Loganair, La Compagnie, Neos, Thomas Cook and Aurigny all already participate in the Worldwide by easyJet program. That’s good news for loyal easyJet customers looking to get to destinations around the globe.

More than 50 million easyJet customers will be able to book connecting flights headed to destinations throughout North America, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Caribbean. In fact, Worldwide by easyJet makes it possible to get to somewhere around 100 destinations using connecting flights. What’s more, easyJet is also promising that customers who miss their connections can simply visit the connection desk at the airport they’re visiting to get on the next available flight free of charge.

Singapore Airlines is no stranger to collaborations. The airline’s current network connects more than 135 destinations in 35 countries across the globe. In fact, the airline’s fleet of more than 180 aircraft operates across five continents.

The fact of the matter is that easyJet is really making waves by introducing its Worldwide program. Connectivity agreements and codeshare procedures have typically only belonged in the domain of legacy carriers up until now. The introduction and expansion of Worldwide by easyJet marks the first time that a European budget carrier has pursued connectivity agreements. Of course, this is no small task.

The success of Worldwide by easyJet doesn’t just rely on the carrier’s ability to reach agreements with other airlines. The folks at easyJet also have their work cut out for them when it comes to implementing technology that actually makes booking connecting flights across airlines a possibility. A sophisticated digital platform has been developed to allow customers to book connections and flights using the easyJet website. Customers can use easyJet’s website to directly access and book connecting flights from the airline’s many partner airlines in minutes.

Don't you have to disclose if you are being paid to promote a company? And if EasyJet is not paying for this, why is it here?
