Woman Attacks, Flight Diverted

A female passenger reportedly attacked other passengers onboard a Shuttle America flight to O’Hare International Airport (ORD) Thursday, forcing the flight to divert to Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW). No injuries were reported among the 69 passengers and four crew members onboard, and after being subdued, the flight was met by airport police and the woman was removed.
“We kind of dragged her away from the galley, and a little bit out more in the aisle,” said Bob Fitzsimmons, one of several passengers who helped control the woman’s outburst. Fitzsimmons claims the passenger seemed as if she was suffering from a psychotic episode, but could not confirm the cause of her actions.
