WestJet chief executive Ed Sims has apologized after asking frequent WestJet flyers to film the service provided by flight attendants and compare it with the service from its competition. Claiming that he did not mean to make flight attendants uncomfortable by encouraging surveillance and scrutiny from passengers, Sims responded to frustration and anger from WestJet cabin crew by claiming that the practice of filming flight attendants is fairly common, and he claimed that he would not repeat this mistake.
