Have you ever wondered what it’s like to spend a day as your celebrity doppelganger?
Well, one famous Delta Airlines passenger did just that.
Sherrie Shepherd, television personality on The View, impersonated her famous friend and Oscar-winning actress, Octavia Spencer. And got away with it.
She snuck into the Delta Sky Club lounge in New Orleans using Octavia’s name:
“(This guy) wants to know why I haven’t been nominated for another Oscar this year… and people are telling me how much they loved me in ‘Hidden Figures’ and ‘The Help,’ ” she whispered into her phone. “They think that I am Octavia Spencer, and I can’t tell them that I’m Sherri Shepherd because they’re gonna throw me out of the VIP lounge here at Delta because I used your name to get in.”
What’s Octavia’s take on this?
Yvette Nicole Brown, guest co-host on The Real, followed up with Octavia to get her response: “She’s [Octavia] aware that we all get mistaken for each other and she encourages us to make that money, so whatever we can get in her name, go on and get it.”
