North Korean Ransomware Virus Hits Boeing
On Wednesday, Boeing’s computer systems were infected by the WannaCry virus, a ransomware program that demands funds before systems are returned to normal. The virus does not seem to have spread to aircraft software, and by evening, the problem seems to have been contained by Wednesday evening.
“Our cybersecurity operations center detected a limited intrusion of malware that affected a small number of systems,” read a statement from Boeing. “Remediations were applied and this is not a production and delivery issue.”
