Vintage Plane Crashes on Los Angeles Freeway

On Tuesday, what appears to be a small vintage aircraft crash-landed on the 101 freeway in Los Angeles, halting mid-day traffic.

2018 is already so weird that this might as well happen.

It was identified as a North American SNJ-5 (T-6).. looks like it's just painted in Luftwaffe colours.

I dont know if it’s me, but I hear of general aviation crashes in the SoCal area at least once a week. A couple weeks ago, there were 2 deadly crashes at Brackett Airfield within 24 hours. Is this just an issue here in SoCal or does this happen everywhere and I’m just hearing only incidents in the LA area?
