Flyers aboard a Pakistan International Airlines flight rebelled after two politicians allegedly showed up late, causing a two-hour delay.

Every day, planes all over the world fail to take off on time. But it’s not every day that passengers revolt against such delays. When a Pakistan International Airlines flight from Karachi to Islamabad was running two hours late on Monday, flyers were outraged — not just because they’d been sitting on the tarmac, but because the plane was waiting for the arrival of two politicians. Videos taken by passengers show that when the two finally appeared, disgruntled flyers revolted and prevented both men from flying, according to The Rakyat Post.

One video shows Pakistan’s former interior minister, Rehman Malik, approaching the door to the plane, only to turn around once irate passengers started angrily yelling at him. One man shouted at Malik, “You should apologize to these passengers. You should be ashamed of yourself! Two hundred and fifty passengers suffered because of you!”

Malik is seen attempting to argue back, but he appears to give up when someone shouts back at him, “You are not a minister anymore!”

“We’ve taken it for 68 years,” another passenger is heard saying, referencing Pakistan’s age before asking, “Are we going to take it another 68?”

Ramesh Kumar Wakwani, a member of the country’s National Assembly, got a bit further than Malik. He made it to his seat. Shortly after sitting down, however, a separate video shows passengers heckling him.

“Shame, shame, shame!” flyers chanted, causing Wakwami to eventually get up and exit the plane.

Shujaat Azeem, an aviation advisor to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, said in a statement that two airport officials were being suspended over the incident. Moreover, he stated that the flight was delayed for 90 minutes for technical reasons and another 25 minutes for Malik.

Malik has since defended himself in a series of Twitter posts and maintains that he did nothing wrong.
