United Wins $1.5 Million Dollar Appeal Against TSA

In a federal appeal, United Airlines won $1.5 million in overpaid fees to the Transportation Security Administration in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Previously, the TSA had refused a 2016 refund request by the carrier because United had failed to contest the audits conducted in the years in question, but Judge Laurence Silberman found in his ruling that “that TSA’s position is unsupportable.”
