United Sued for False Imprisonment Over Lewd Passenger Act

LOS ANGELES – The family of Monica Amestoy, 18, is suing United Airlines for negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment. The family is represented in the matter by attorney Gloria Allred.

Amestoy alleged at a news conference Thursday that while on a United flight she was forced to sit across from a man who was “masturbating and exposing himself” while staring at her. Amestoy was 17 at the time of the incident.

“He [the accused passenger] positioned his blanket so that the individuals that sat next to him could not see what he was doing. But I could not help but see.”

Amestoy reported the incident to the United flight attendant. “I thought he [the flight attendant] would tell the man to stop or move. He did neither. The flight attendant told me he couldn’t move me because there were no seats in my class. I sat down. I felt like the flight attendant was not helping me because I was flying on my dad’s frequent flyer points.”

According to Allred, the passenger has since been prosecuted and convicted for the alleged incident.

“I felt that it was somehow my fault because I was flying on points,” Amestoy said.

This is clearly a criminal act. I cannot imagine an FA not taking this incident seriously, if it really happened and was really reported. If this were a real incident, the girl should have contacted the police immediately upon arrival. Gloria Allred's involvement makes me somewhat dubious of the whole thing.

So, a woman who sings and people who talk complain are security risks and have emergency stops and this one gets to cum. I say sue the pants out of UA and the FA.

Nothing but a money grab and Gloria Allred is a perfect example of some of the things wrong with this country.

O

There is no more dangerous place to be in America than between Gloria Allred and a TV camera...except for maybe Chicago. ;)

So according to a previous poster only - "unattractive" people should be punished for this sort of thing???? And who gets to decide what is unattractive? Perhaps a picture of the poster so we can judge whether he/she would be punished? Just a thought:-)
