United Offering Bonuses in Bid to Improve Morale
United Airlines (UA) employees got the good news that they may be eligible for bonuses totaling up to $125 for the month of October, reported Chicago Business Journal Monday.
The bonuses are an effort to improve morale as United embarks on improving customer satisfaction, the Business Journal said. One bonus is for employees who work on United flights that arrived exactly on time in October, not within the broader 14-minute scope the Department of Transportation (DOT) considers “on time” for flights.
The bonuses were announced in an internal memo by United acting Chief Executive Officer Brett Hart, who is United’s third chief in as many months. Hart took over the post after chief executive Oscar Munoz suffered a heart attack in mid-October. Munoz headed the airline for just over a month after former chief executive Jeff Smisek resigned in September amid a federal investigation regarding corruption.
Separately, United told staff on October 30 that it will not outsource any airport operations positions in customer service, check-in and baggage handling until 2017 or contracts with unions are signed.

Not convincing as I got two different agents this year telling me, "No, no, no, no, no" in response to a simple inquiry. What's up with the Friendly Skies?
Why not try money. The management before and after the merger failed employees and customers. I am so gone from United. Never again for me.
Much ado about nothing, for the most part. These SMALL bonuses, at $25 each, have been offered all along. The only difference is they hit all three of the goals at once, which usually doesn't happen.
