United: Customers Can Bid to Be Bumped

United Airlines has introduced a feature wherein passengers can elect to enter the monetary value for which they would accept being bumped for their flight, should the flight become overbooked. Upon overbooking of a flight, the flyer who entered in the lowest dollar amount on their bid will be selected for bumping, and will be awarded the amount that was entered.
