United Changes up Classic Blue Color Scheme

As part of a long-running effort to update the look of its in-flight look, United Airlines will be adding a few new colors to its new employee uniforms.

Joining Rhapsody Blue – United’s well-known navy shade with a name inspired by the “Rhapsody in Blue” title that United has used as its theme song -– are several new additions. They’ll include United Blue, Pacific Blue, Premium Purple, Runway Gray, Sky Blue and Atlantic Amethyst.

In 2017, United Airlines conducted more than a dozen employee “road shows” at its hub airports so that workers across its network could come to check out samples from designers and give their feedback about what they did and didn’t want to be included.

Now that the road testing has been completed, these new colors are slated to be rolled out as part of United Airlines’ overall color palette aesthetic in 2020.

I see that Rhapsody Blue was enhanced all the way to pitch black.

They need a new livery instead. Like a lot of things since the merger- They seem to be copying Delta by incorporating purple into their colors.

On my screen that Pacific Blue looks more like it should be called Pacific Green.
