United Alters Cockpit Code After FA Leak

Frankfurt, Germany - July 17, 2014: United Airlines aircraft logo at an aircraft in Frankfurt. United Airlines is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

After a flight attendant for United Airlines mistakenly posted codes to the cockpit doors on social media, the carrier announced Monday that it would be changing the codes as a solution to the security breach. Until the new codes are implemented, pilots were told via memo to use “alternative security measures” as a stopgap, said airline spokesperson Maddie King.

King claims the airline is “working to change the codes on all of our aircraft,” and no breaches of security have happened because of the leak.
